Normally, I have no love for fanficish things (sorry!), but this is amusing. Serenity Tales: Notes on a Fridge. For the Browncoats in the house.

Anyway, so on Whedonesque, JW confirmed in an amusing if long winded post that he would make a Serenity sequel if someone asked him which is pretty much the same thing as saying he won't. Prove me wrong, kids! Prove me wrong!

Anyway, his post included some of his other commitments, including these two I'm very excited about:

2) I've got a thirteen episode commitment from the CW, so get ready for the long-awaited "Primative and Cheese Man". She's the first Slayer, he's a meaningless hallucination -- can they put aside their differences long enough to fight crime?

3) "CLEM!" Broadway. The number where he eats Rum Tum Tuggle will make you laugh and cry and throw up in your mouth slightly.

Because the world has demanded a Clem musical.

The first nine minutes of Serenity.

Recent conversation at Casa Bitter:

Cynra: Don't leave the butter open! It'll attract fruit flies!

YHB: I really don't think they're interested in butter. They're not butter flies, after all.

C: I can't believe you just said that.

Odd day

Today was a strange day. Unsettling news from a friend and yard work left me feeling like a worn out tire physically and not, so we did not attend a work function today. Shame, as there was to be food. I

Serenity last night w/ local BC bunch. Enjoyable film. Dinner was okay, although the company could occasionally be improved on (one guy starting to seriously damage my calm). Someone's putting a Serenity game together, which is neat.

Also had D&D game yesterday. Much Gnoll evil fought, as well as a cold emitting fungus of some kind. Brr. One of the other playres is going to be running an alternating old west d20 Modern game.

It's ocassionally handy having humans as an enemy race.

Cynra & I picked up our Serenity tickets on Wednesday night, which was nice. Going to our favourite AMC (the quiet one, where the hoodlums don't go).

Yesterday I went to Thursday night Mage game (first session) so I thought, new game, new dinner! I stopped off on Queen to go to Gandhi's Roti shop and picked up the butter chicken dinner. It seemed kind of pricey, but I was feeling adventurous.

Then I got it to Robin's for game.

Oh, Lord. The roti was the size of a football, I swear. It was massive. The filling was great, chunks of chicken & potato in a creamy sauce, and the food had enough for two people to eat.

Unfortunately, it was so good I kept nibbling at it all evening. Which meant I felt very, very bad this morning.

Mage game went well. The GM is allowing player goals to direct the events of the game. My lacksidasical PC generation skills once again provided amusement ("Hey, I have three dots in stealth!"). And I'm still creeped out by the thought that it might be my chracter's quarters invisibly under the glass floor of the CN Tower's viewing port.

May have to kill one or two of the other PCs. But you never know.

Now, I know there's been some hateration going on (some of it rather amusing, some of it... "special olypmics" style [Link cut to preserve the stupid]), but I'm gonna ignore that because I am what is known in the papers as an upstanding member of society.

Okay, here's the question I'm gonna ask: So, who's planning on seeing Serenity? Cynra & I are probably gonna go to a Friday night show, and join the [livejournal.com profile] canbrowncoats for the Shindig after they take in the weekend show.

I know, I've seen it twice already, but it's a good flick, enjoyable, especially the Hungadunga.

Anyone else going?

The Serenity website has received a major upgrade (lots o' bells n' whistles).

For those looking forward to it, there's a couple of fan sites for you to be interested in.

Thanks to everyone who was understanding yesterday. Some days (like right after a convention) you just get grumpy. I'd like to thank everyone who was understanding of the post-con funk (which is everyone I'm not married to).

Ah, well. At least tomorrow is Wednesday. [livejournal.com profile] kinra, please get back to me regarding your plans for tomorrow. I know it's last minute, but such is life.

In a fit of ennui, I've created an LJ community to correspond to the Canadian Browncoats group. Called, oddly enough, [livejournal.com profile] canbrowncoats (they only give you 15 letters), it's open to all.

Well, all Canadian Firefly fans. Or at least Firefly fans who feel Canadian. Or have felt Canadians. Or something like that.

This post, btw, is spoiler free.

Delightful film, that. Characters seem only slightly diminished (Simon & River's position within the crew is less than it was), but plot is powerful. Much seen and heard of Reapers.

Sean Maher did attend the screening (charming young man), but apologies to [livejournal.com profile] liquidize, they barred us from bringing duct tape.

Delightful. Should you wish to see it, the wait to September will be worth it.
