Still in search of Serenity
Sep. 1st, 2005 04:05 pmSerenity, take 2
Enjoyable again, although tension is ratcheted up at the near conclusion with foreknowledge of Wash’s demise. Opinions still divided over whether or not Wash should have died (well, of course he should have died, he had a bloody big spike through him!); or rather, whether he should have been killed in the course of the story. Lacking any sort of desire to posses authority on the issue, I still feel it's none of my businees, although
kinra agreed that it set you up to believe that any one of them could be next. And you do get a strong feeling of dread when they begin to get injured.
River's Big Reaver Battle was less engaging this time, although still a cavalcade of ass-kickery. Didn't it last longer last time?
The Space Battle was still very, very cool. Mr. Universe was neat (yet creepy). Was it explained why they seemed to be descending through tunnels to get to Haven, which seemed to be an open city, and didn’t need to use them when they went the second time?
Differences: Okay, are my specks really dirty, was the lens on the projector in need of cleaning, or was there a LOT of soft focus stuff in the flick? There seemed to be way more strangeness with light than I remember.
Still loved Jayne. “I don’t wanna explode.”
Will be cross posted to
canbrowncoats shortly.
