Is Myra Breckenrigdge a treasured piece of camp, or just something that is watched while drunk/high and mocked, relentlessly?

Remembrance Day
Nov. 11th, 2008 08:52 pmDay off from work for the holiday today, and I headed downtown for the ceremony at the Ontario Veterans Memorial.
The ceremony reminded me of many I participated in in my youth, only it wasn't raining and I didn't have to march from the cenotaph to the Legion hall.
The Memorial is quite compelling, but is quite possibly the worst possible design for a Remembrance Day celebration.
It's set into the ground, and the crowds are not able to actually see anything happening on the memorial. Unlike a normal cenotaph, which is raised up so you can at least see part of the ceremony.

kinra and I met up and headed to Rancho Relaxo to grab some lunch and do some kibbitzing.
Of course, RR isn't open until five, so we went to Free Times for some matzo ball soup and falafel.
We discussed a project we're contemplating, and then headed to Dragon Lady where we hung out withpapajoemambo for a bit.
After a short trip to 401 Games, I dropped offkinra at home and headed was home for dinner w/ Cynra.

Captain America director named
Nov. 10th, 2008 09:54 amSo the Captain America film will be directed by Joe Johnston, the guy who made The Rocketeer.
Yeah, I like the sound of that. The Rocketeer is an underappreciated gem that came out before the current spate of superhero flicks, and yes, it was all a big origin story, but I'm cool with that.
The schedule for Iron Man and Thor seems rather... optimistic, but at least they've got more than two years to get Cap underway. A WWII superhero epic? Should be fun.
God willing they'll do some filmin' here in TO.
