Did the Dr. ever travel with a talking penguin? Or is this

just Morrison being Morrison?

He did, during a stint of Dr. Who magazine. It was actually a shape-shifter that preferred to be in the form of a penguin.

If you want to see a little of him in action, here's a few scans (http://community.livejournal.com/scans_daily/6359061.html).

That's Frobisher. He's a shape-shifter, but he likes being a penguin.

Who wouldn't?

He's not from the TV series.

I came across Frobisher for the first time in a Big Finish audio drama. I don't think I listened to the whole thing, because even without the visual, Doctor + penguin = WTF?

I might too ...

But now that I think back it was the voice that ruined it for me. The penguin thing may have not been relevant.

But I definitely recall now that it was the brit doing an American accent that put me off. Often that goes bad - much as it does in the reverse direction.

Someone needs to write Frobisher/Doctor slash. Shapeshifters are awesome!

What from that cover indicated that he was a talking penguin? I see no word balloons. His beak is open, but he could be making penguin sounds.
