Admittedly, I'm too busy here at work to be doing a Hoo'd Win, but that doesn't stop me from speculating. The first idea was from [livejournal.com profile] thetathx1138, but the rest came to me in a fever dream. Or possibly while reading someone's FL.

For the uninitiated, Turok is an aboriginal American who fights dinosaurs in the distant past. Devil Dinosaur is a big red T-Rex ridden by Moon Boy.

Magnus, Robot Hunter is, well, a guy named Magnus who fights robots. The cool part? He does it with his bare hands! Take THAT, Will Smith and Chi McBride in I, Robot! Magnus uses 41st Century Kung Fu to punch right through robots. Kiiaaii!

The Metal Men are a group of heroic robots in the DC Universe (built, ironically enough, by Will Magnus), each of whom is based on an elemental metal. Their enemies include Chemo, a giant flying manta ray that shoots heat beams, and The Death Metal men, which is an awesome rogues gallery.

Batman and Rorschach... Well, if you don't know them, I'm afraid it's back to nerd school for you.

How is "Batman vs. Rorschach" even a contest? I mean, Rorry's a really cool character, and he's got the niftiest mask know to mankind, but c'mon. He's no match for Bats.

Ask DC. They're doing a book called "Arena" and it featured Rorschach getting smacked around by Batman.

So's the Joker, and Batman still beats the crap out of him. ;-)

so he's crazy x 2?

Perhaps pitting The Question v. Rohrshach would yield more discussion?

See, I think that's a much more apt pairing, myself.

Wow, I put up a set like that, and nobody takes the obvious rejoinder (that Batman is every bit as crazy as Rorschach)? Hmm... I had better go back to straight-man school for some refreshers...

Impressive array of linkage there. I went with Magnus v. the Metal Men because I figured the debate there would be less likely to get ugly than a Bats/Rohr discussion.

I am not a comic book guy, so I'd never heard of the Metal Men. Be that as it may, I'm now upset, as this is almost exactly an idea I had. Mine involved having a team of human (but heavily modified through surgery, think Wolverine, or Bionic Woman) soldiers, each with characteristics and powers to that of different metals (this did include a couple of allows).

Steel, the strong one.
Aluminum and Magnesium, the fast and light scouts (Magnesium could be a woman, because of it's slight pinkish tint).
Iron, the big brute strength.
etc.

To see that it's been done (similar, anyway) is upsetting.

You need Turok, Robot Hunter, Turok and Batman against Rorschach riding on the back of the leader of a team of robotic dinosauroids each themed to a different metal (one of whom must be mechagojira)

and yes, there are two Turoks in the above post. With the wonder of comic books, it could happen.

Heck, it seems to happen to Superman all the time. Plus, I've seen a picture that had about 70 different versions of Wolverine in it before...

He just needs a caucasian sidekick that always gets the crap kicked out of him when he goes alone to the settlements.

Thank you for reminding me of the comics of my childhood (and my brother's, who was very fond of Magnus)
