Come on: A Wonder Woman fanzine called "Bound and Determined"? That's genius, right there!

Feh.

In other words, the Thursday Night GM (The Greatest GM Ever TM) has let us know that 4E does not easily support people taking over others PCs during an absence, and has suggested we might create documents to allow other players to get a handle on how to use the character's various abilities in a considered, tactical manner.

I think Lacklow's would be pretty straightforward.

Is it alive?

Yes: Stab it in the eye.

No: Flank another enemy and stab it in the eye

Is it Still alive?

Yes: How about a Daily?

No: Flankity flankity, stabbity stabbity.

Is it still alive?

Yes: I'm fresh out of ideas. Hide behind the Dragonborn, maybe?

No: We're going all aboard on a stabby train!

In other news, I still can't imagine why Paul compares him to Belkar.

You know, today's Question of the Day is kind of lame, kind of cute, but what's awesome is to read the LJ of someone who, well, really seems to need a hug.

The image under the cut, however, is kind of awesome.

The documentary Hitman Hart: Wrestling with Shadows has been posted to the NFB's website.

It's a great documentary about Bret Hart's last days with the then-WWF, and tells a lot of the tale of the Montreal Screwjob.

I shall have to give it a watch when I get home.

Via Antonia Z's Blog.

There's a Thread on RPG.net about walking away from a game at a con.

I have walked away from three games in my life.

The first was a Star Wars game which started off... poorly. The GM had no control over the game, to such an extent that he let the players bring their own PCs, and didn't bother to look at them, which was a bad idea. One of them was playing LOBO, for God's sake.

The second was a Champions game at GenCon. The GM gave out PCs with gadget pools, but no sample gadgets, and seemed to be more interested in doing sketches than running the game, and had no materials with him. [livejournal.com profile] mr_weasel faked a phone call from his wife and we ditched.

The last time was a Wraith: The Great War game at GenCon where we spend two hours of the slot in a dogfight, with no end in sight. I did with Best Roleplayer in that game, because I spent it doing a bad Irish accent (and would like to apologize to the people of Ireland). I left to participate in the Austin Powers CCG World Championship. Apparently someone eventually got shot down and had a Harrowing, so that seemed to be the goal of the adventure.

Each time, the fun value was seriously depleted at various points in the game. The GM either lacked control or pacing or both.

Just got an update for Dicenomicon. Included in a bunch of blah blah (hey, copy & paste. That's kind of nifty) is that they have added sounds.

I believe it is now perfect.

And the Spring one started on Friday, I guess.

Anyway, since Cynra & I have just printed out our registrations for Toronto Trek (how 20th century of us!) I was reminded of the Con Anti-Harassment Projectthat started last year.

Not by anything on the Toronto Trek website, mind you. It just popped into my head.

I'm working diligently to get a suitable policy enacted at FanExpo for '09. Wish me luck. It does appear that the Ad Astra page doesn't seem to have anything listed about it; I only noticed this because the CAHP has it listed as the first con. The perils of alphabetization, I guess. The website continues to be somewhat irritating. Is that giant graphic in the back totally necessary? I need to dig out my layout and design books to figure out what really irritates me about it.

Toronto Trek is also lacking an outlined policy, but I suppose that sort of thing has to go through committee after committee. I'm sure someone on ConCom is hard at work on it.

Anime North has the standard "Tis Better to Get Permission than Ask Forgiveness" policy WRT Glomping, and asks you to

Have fun, enjoy yourself, be courteous to hotel staff and fellow attendees but please remember, the impression you make reflects on all of us.

Which I suppose would be sufficient.

I also checked out the Open Source Women Back Each Other Up Project (And Gentleman's Auxilliary),and looked at their LJ community [livejournal.com profile] backupproject. The LJ comm is fairly quiet (con season's a-comin', kids!), although I do notice that "Operation boob grope" is coming up on its one year anniversary. I plan to hold a party. There may be a pinata.

Anyway, March break is almost over. Back to work tomorrow. Thankfully it's a short week, as I'm off Thursday for a doctor's appointment. Huzzah!

Odd that I was watching a show of that title tonight that described the history of the Crystal Beach amusement park. It reminded me of this song, about something that is also no longer there.

The Spadina bus has been replaced by a streetcar line, which does not quite have the same beat.

Sequential, which is always interesting, has announced that The 2009 Paradise ComicCon has been cancelled. I guess that'll teach them not to schedule events against Toronto Trek.

My favourite bit is how [livejournal.com profile] kev_the_mev did not quit working with Paradise to work on FanExpo, he defected. Man, I wonder how Orwell would react to that description of events.

And that's just an awesome video, btw.

Anyway, [livejournal.com profile] ludickid got to interview her on the AV Club, which is cool, and I realized that A) I can't access crackle, even with clever software solutions, so I've yet to see Angel of Death, and I don't have a damn copy of Double Dare.

Well, I can fix ONE of those things, right?

Well, not so much. Chapters has it "Temporarily unavailable to order", which is Heather-speak for "Fuck you, Mohareb!" and Amazon.ca just says "Buy it from these resellers for $50".

Feh.

Ohhh, Amazon.com does have it in stock. Excellent.

Never mind my whining! Enjoy the video!

Freddie Prinze Jr. to star in US version of No Heroics.

For those of you who were not paying attention, No Heroics was a BritCom about four superheroes who were losers of various degrees.

Billy from BSG will play Chillout, a Canadian superhero, who I assume is the US version of The Hotness, which means he will be a total loser.

Prinze will play Ultimatum, the US version of Excelsor.
