Are you sure it was a Marvel character? Because it kind of sounds like the Question.

Might have been in DC jumbo album (did they do them too?), but it don't think it was the Question. I think the character became a devotee/avatar of Kali or Siva or something, and might have been called The Scarab? Or something like that?

I'm pretty certain it wasn't the Question -- but the memory's hazy... perhaps it was after all...
