There's one too many information-carrying words. You can have the X of Y, or the YZ, but the X of the YZ is just silly. Observe:

"Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom": fine.
"Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of Skulls": a touch lame, but basically fine.
"Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade": fine.
"Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull": meh.
"Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull": just too damn much going on.

I totally agree. A point to make on that, though, is that the first movie now breaks that pattern with the adding of "Indiana Jones and the", as they have so very thoughtfully done.

Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

Almost identical.
