Heroes: One Day Later

As always, I sploil like crazy beneat the cut.

Man, down to the last two episodes already? Things are staring to wind up.

First off: excitement! The Blog of one of the show's producers.

Okay, so we get a bit of a cliffhanger this week as Peter and Ted finally meet. I take it back, it would have been much better if they'd met in Nevada. They're used to uncontrolled nuclear explosions there.

The Sylar thing was interesting. I guess it's nice to see the "villain just wants to live a simple life as a watchmaker but their psychotic snow globe collecting mother insists they must be destined for great things (but not superhuman things, obviously) and who accidentally kills said mother during an altercation after he starts hurling snowglobes around the room while making it snow in her living room" bit again, but it's getting a little tired.

Just once, I'd like to see a villain who does not doubt their path, who knows that they are following a destiny. Where are the Magnetos, the Dooms, the Dubyas? Dammit. I'd felt that Sylar was certain of his path, but when he saw Issac's paintings he felt uncertainty. It did give an interesting perspective into his reasons for harvesting the delicious grey matter, that being that he feels the people he's taking them from are wasting their abilties. It is good that he's not one of those "and the lives of puny humans means nothing to me!" types, though.

Although maybe he just wasn't until now.

[livejournal.com profile] spacecrime mentioned an Angela Landsbury/Manchurian Candidate vibe off of Mama Patrelli, and that pretty much hits it on the head for me. She's hip deep in the blood of the .07%.

I think we also need to start putting names down for who's first against the wall when this is over. Linderman, Mr. Nakamura (and his daughter?), Mam Petrelli, possibly Mr. Devereaux. Remember, these guys are aware that NYC is gonna go off, and are not trying to stop it, but are planning for the eventuality. That makes them kinda guilty.

Is there really a Kirby Plaza in NYC, or is that another geek treat?

Hiro does need to get his sword repaired. Could he be planning to jaunt back in time, get his blade fixed, learn swordsmanship, and pop back with a soul patch and Ando's English lessons after a few months to stop Sylar?

I had just thought about Micah pulling a Diebold on this election. Obviously something else fell through, though, because that picture showed him left behind in the burning building. Unless he was swapped out for Huey from The Boondocks at the last second.

Yeah, that looked like Huey to me, too.

Ah, that would explain why Micah is needed, and it would also fit nicely into the "why do they need to blow New York up" question. It would eradicate any physical evidence of whether the election was hacked and, of course, server as a huge distraction from the anomalous election results.

In that case, I suspect leaving Micah behind would be intentional. He knows too much and could discredit someone they've worked very hard to put in the oval office. And because of his power he could literally broadcast the truth to everyone in the country any time his conscious got the better of him. No, much better for the conspirators if he dies in the explosion.
