We don't need another Heroes. We need two.

As always, I sploil like crazy beneat the cut.
Man, down to the last two episodes already? Things are staring to wind up.
First off: excitement! The Blog of one of the show's producers.
Okay, so we get a bit of a cliffhanger this week as Peter and Ted finally meet. I take it back, it would have been much better if they'd met in Nevada. They're used to uncontrolled nuclear explosions there.
The Sylar thing was interesting. I guess it's nice to see the "villain just wants to live a simple life as a watchmaker but their psychotic snow globe collecting mother insists they must be destined for great things (but not superhuman things, obviously) and who accidentally kills said mother during an altercation after he starts hurling snowglobes around the room while making it snow in her living room" bit again, but it's getting a little tired.
Just once, I'd like to see a villain who does not doubt their path, who knows that they are following a destiny. Where are the Magnetos, the Dooms, the Dubyas? Dammit. I'd felt that Sylar was certain of his path, but when he saw Issac's paintings he felt uncertainty. It did give an interesting perspective into his reasons for harvesting the delicious grey matter, that being that he feels the people he's taking them from are wasting their abilties. It is good that he's not one of those "and the lives of puny humans means nothing to me!" types, though.
Although maybe he just wasn't until now.
spacecrime mentioned an Angela Landsbury/Manchurian Candidate vibe off of Mama Patrelli, and that pretty much hits it on the head for me. She's hip deep in the blood of the .07%.
I think we also need to start putting names down for who's first against the wall when this is over. Linderman, Mr. Nakamura (and his daughter?), Mam Petrelli, possibly Mr. Devereaux. Remember, these guys are aware that NYC is gonna go off, and are not trying to stop it, but are planning for the eventuality. That makes them kinda guilty.
Is there really a Kirby Plaza in NYC, or is that another geek treat?
Hiro does need to get his sword repaired. Could he be planning to jaunt back in time, get his blade fixed, learn swordsmanship, and pop back with a soul patch and Ando's English lessons after a few months to stop Sylar?

Date: 2007-05-08 08:29 pm (UTC)Also, Mama P is totally going to turn out to be the most evil character in the whole thing. I've been thinking it for a few episodes, but this last one seemed to cement it.

Date: 2007-05-08 08:43 pm (UTC)It would be cool if, for example, Hiro took them back to Hiroshima when they detonated. Given his background (and what he did to Action #1, gah) that would make a certain amount of sense.

Date: 2007-05-08 09:00 pm (UTC)It certainly didn't seem to be the world they were looking to create. What are they trying to heal, anyway? Are they essentially like future Sylar? Are they simply trying to get rid of the competition?
What end is furthered by destroying New York? They're going to "heal" the world, how so and why wasn't that apparent in the future Hiro jumped forward to? Is Sylar the spoiler on whatever plans they have coming down the pipes?
What power does Ma Petrelli have? From her comments it has to be some kind of precognition or something similar. She knew both of her children had powers apparently before they knew.
I think Candace's power is going to screw things up in the final episode. I think the reason future Hiro stabbed Peter instead of Sylar must be because Candace;s power was used to confuse Hiro. I say Candace's power, because Sylar may have already killed her and absorbed her power. He should be capable of doing so using TK and super hearing.
There's another question, too. What does Linderman need Micah for? Is he already aware that their plan isn't going quite right?

Date: 2007-05-08 09:20 pm (UTC)The only sign we had of any of the conspirators in the Jump episode was the Linderman Act which apparently was enacted to restrain supers.
Something must have happened, because Bennet was able to setup his underground railroad through Primatech.

Date: 2007-05-09 02:06 pm (UTC)In that case, I suspect leaving Micah behind would be intentional. He knows too much and could discredit someone they've worked very hard to put in the oval office. And because of his power he could literally broadcast the truth to everyone in the country any time his conscious got the better of him. No, much better for the conspirators if he dies in the explosion.
