Chicken Apple Stew
Apr. 12th, 2007 12:28 pm- 1 1/2 pounds bonelss chicken thighs (about six)
- Salt and black pepper
- Large onion, sliced
- Cinnamon
- Sage
- Thyme
- Chicken broth (1/2 cup)
- Granny Smith apple (1), peeled, seeded, and finely chopped
- Apple Butter (2 tbsps)
- Half n' Half (1/2 cup)
- Season chicken with salt and pepper, and brown in skillet in 1 tbsp butter over medium high heat
- Add onion, cook 2 minutes
- Add 1 tsp sage, 1/4 tsp cinnamon and 1/4 tsp thyme. Stir
- Add Chicken Broth, apple, and apple butter. Bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat to low and cover. Cook until chicken is cooked through, about five minutes.
- Add half and half, cook 2 minutes more.
Chicken Apple Stew @ Group RecipesI love this dish. I got the recipie out of a free daily when I was working in Burlington, and made it regularly since then, until I lost the recipie, but I've managed to reacquire it.
