  • 1 1/2 pounds bonelss chicken thighs (about six)

  • Salt and black pepper

  • Large onion, sliced

  • Cinnamon

  • Sage

  • Thyme

  • Chicken broth (1/2 cup)

  • Granny Smith apple (1), peeled, seeded, and finely chopped

  • Apple Butter (2 tbsps)

  • Half n' Half (1/2 cup)



  1. Season chicken with salt and pepper, and brown in skillet in 1 tbsp butter over medium high heat

  2. Add onion, cook 2 minutes

  3. Add 1 tsp sage, 1/4 tsp cinnamon and 1/4 tsp thyme. Stir

  4. Add Chicken Broth, apple, and apple butter. Bring to a boil.

  5. Reduce heat to low and cover. Cook until chicken is cooked through, about five minutes.

  6. Add half and half, cook 2 minutes more.


Chicken Apple Stew @ Group Recipes

I love this dish. I got the recipie out of a free daily when I was working in Burlington, and made it regularly since then, until I lost the recipie, but I've managed to reacquire it.

Apple butter is available at "Bulk Barn", or at least the one by our place stocks it.
