More nerdolotry
Jan. 24th, 2007 05:28 pmOh, man. You know, maybe I’m a bit crazy (hee hee!) but I really enjoyed Love & Monsters. I assumed most God Fearing folk would agree. But, imagine my surprise when upon looking at the DWIN blog I find out that not only do some people NOT like it, but they dislike it rather vocally.
Ah, well. I found it well done and sweet, so that’s all that really matters, I guess.

Date: 2007-01-25 04:44 pm (UTC)I haven't gone to look yet, but I always find it funny when people who can accept that the hero of a kid's show (let's face it) flies through time and space in a phone booth with his chosen-for-something-the-GIRLS[ick]-can relate to "companion" fighting foam rubber monsters in stories that are traditionally mostly talking heads complain that something on the program was "too silly".
This would be like someone complaining about the North American equivalent, over here - best as I can judge, that would be the Sid & Marty Krofft production of DOCTOR ZHIVAGO with Charles Nelson Reilly in full HooDoo drag as Komarovsky.
Fans are fucking stupid, man.
Oh - and for the record,
Date: 2007-01-25 04:45 pm (UTC)LOVE AND MONSTERS was a great episode.
They had me at "DONT BRING ME DOWN".

Date: 2007-01-26 02:25 pm (UTC)(For my money, one of the big sadnesses about Billie Piper leaving the show is that we're very unlikely to see any more of Camille Coduri: I thought her Jackie was starting to turn into a rather interesting character.)
