In the turbulent decade known as the 1980s, there were many vicious rivalries: The USA vs the USSR, Releasing New Coke vs Common Sense, and Bryan Adams vs Good Taste. But, forgotten in the past is this epic confrontation, between a two man UK pop duo and... A two man UK pop duo.

Yes, the epic rivalry between Tears for Fears and The Pet Shop Boys will surely go down in musical history as one of the quietest. Unlike, say, Blur and Oasis, or the Beatles and the Rolling Stones, there was no petulant sniping in the press, no duelling singles or exhortations for the other band to get AIDS. In fact, it's not too much to say that they may have each been entirely completely ignorant of the other's careers. Not likely, as they probably both went to parties and stuff, but it's possible.

Still! We don't care about quiet and peace! We want WAR! So, who wins? Whose cuisine reigns supreme?

Fight!

PSB wins b/c "It's a Sin" is one of my personal life anthems.

Well, that's just the strongest reason. Tears for Queers have some good songs ("Head over Heels" is pretty darn nifty, IMO), but nowhere near as many as PSB.
