Yesterday, I found a post in which someone yelled at me for comparing architecture in Ottawa (which is a muddy hole, you know) to that of Washington D.C. It was an attack on all Americans, and illogical to boot since there is no possible connection between two neighbouring national capitals. It would be as absurd as comparing two different kinds of car, or candy bar!
Possibly, I should have taken this as a portent of things to come.
It's not easy to do that when you go through life wanting to believe the best of people. A million things go through your head:
"I should've seen this coming." (But how?) "Are they acting like this toward others?" (Usually.) "Am I the problem?" (No.) "What the heck is wrong with them, and why aren't they getting help for that?" (G-d only knows.)
Etcetera. Maybe the best thing that comes out of reading these kind of old posts is the realisation that we're the sane ones, and through comments that support us we find out that, thank g-d, we're not alone. :)
