For a value of fun that is negative.

The drive in went mostly okay. The road was stupid icy but I made it in okay.

Until I hit the Hurontario ramp. It hadn't seen the business end of a plow yet, so it was just two big ice ruts in the middle of some snow.

Supercar skidded right off the road onto the (thankfully) very broad shoulder.

I tried to drive back on but it was just kicking up snow, so I got out to try kicking some snow away from the tires. I really need a collapsible shovel for situations like that; I also got caught in a snowbank on my way out of my FLCS last week.

Anyway, I kicked the snow, and tried again. Supercar MOVED, but it didn't drive. I rocked it a bit, and nothing. Before I could get out and do some more kicking (really, shovel, gotta get one) a red F250 pulled up behind me, and two guys got out.

Without a word, they pushed me right onto the road and I was on my way.

So, yeah, right now I'd like to send thanks into the ether to them (I got to say thanks to them at the Brittania intersection later).

You know what's scary? It's entirely likely that, some time in the '70s, a very involved, passionate debate was held between two (or possibly more) fans over which show was better: Space: 1999 or the original Battlestar Galactica.

This debate may have gone so far as to start a fistfight.

I am actually more delighted than scared by this idea.

edit: of course, who's to say it was just one argument? Maybe it was a man and a woman (forgive my heteronormatism) who simply found their debate drawing themselves closer and closer until they find themselves together and together they stay until this day. And even though she gets a slight smirk everytime Ron Moore's little show comes on, they're happy together.
