So, yesterday Cynra &
atomiks and YHB headed out to Sheridan Mall Sherway Gardens for a shopping trip. Cynra's iMac predated the invention of DVD technology, so we decided that instead of getting me a new PC, we'd pick up a new iMac for the house.
A good choice, methinks. It's the smallest screen model, but we upgraded our RAM to 2 Gigs and I picked up Sim City 4, which is more in depth than I remember.
All sorts of fun, in any case. It's so much prettier on the living room table. And now I can use my dang ipod.

Zoo Tycoon Marine Mania
Nov. 24th, 2005 05:29 pmAnyone know of anywhere in town that would have Marine Mania, the second expansion for the original Zoo Tycoon game from Microsoft?
I've checked some online places, and Amazon.com has it for $9.99, while Amazon.ca has it for $29.99. Guh.
I'd love to know if anywhere in town has it, especially for $10-15.

It's alive! ALIVE!
Mar. 7th, 2004 09:10 pmWell, the machine has been fixed. Or rather, wasn't broken to begin with.
After a short trip in the snow (shocking, after a week of good weather, to get a sudden reminder it is still winter) to
mr_weasel and
mindrobber's w/ the sacred beast, chip meister Charles cracked it open and asked "what's the problem, eh?"
And, lo, there was none. We backed up a bunch of files, just in case, but it turned out there was nothing amiss. The cable leading from the router to the computer had gone snarky, so I unplugged it and plugged the cable from the modem to the router to the computer.
Problem fixed.
Charles tried Counterstrike, and found it not to his liking. A shame, but not everyone likes everything.
So, all is back to normal. Tomorrow, I will (still) be sick with a working computer. Perhaps I will finish my Apocalypse review! And my Bow, Kiss or Shake Hands piece!

Feb. 14th, 2004 01:49 pmAnother point: got a new loaner monitor from Mr. Z (apparently, he had one just lying aboot the house). It replaces my older, larger monitor that appeared to be showing everything in 3D, and I didn't have glasses.
I'm using it to watch this Trailer for a terrifying movie, the Lost Skeleton of Cadavara. I find myself unable to avert my eyes.

May. 13th, 2002 09:04 amMy speakers are on the fritz. The subwoofer is working fine, but the speakers themselves ain't doing bupkiss for me.
It's annoying. I think I may be on the cusp of my warranty expiring, which would suck.
I guess I'll get the missus to run them in.
Did the seasonal D&D game yesterday. I miss gaming more regularly. It was fun, and I got to kill a LOT of Orcs. Wheee.
