Apr. 7th, 2008 04:52 pmSo, yeah, the weekend.
Saturday was pretty quiet. Cynra ordered some stuff from Home Hardware, which we'll need to see about installing. Yay for a new door!
We went to K.Dub to visit
uniquecrash5 for his annual Cheese Weasel party. He lives a few steps away from one fo the most awesome stores in the world, Vincenzo's. This made it very convenient for us to get the cheese.
We brought a few slices of medium cheddar, a piece of a buttery Quebecois washed rind cheese called La Lauvagine, and a delightful piece of blue called Shropshire Blue . I liked it quite a bit. I also bought some of those Godlike garlic stuffed olives they have at Vincenzo's. Oh, man.
I also developed a huge crush on roquefort. I really like strong blues.
I also levelled in MHA. I very much enjoy having memory alteration, and also having a friend with memory alteration.
Sunday was Teacher Day at the Zoo. Cynra and I drove down in her car and, well, it was an interesting trip. Because it was both Teacher day and the first really nice weekend of the year, the zoo was, well, let's just say it lived up to its name. We actually ended up using one of the alternate parking lots, which meant we had a bit of a stroll back to the car. On the plus side, parking was free.
I think I've had a bit of an epiphany. The whole "fresh air makes you tired" thingy is pure bullshit. Being in the fresh air does not make you any more tired than being indoors, but you're usually doing something when you're outside, so hence, tired.
Or maybe that's what it's meant all along and I just missed it.
We walked about and saw the zoo, looked at some newborns (mostly various primates).
When we got home, we had dinner and then watched the conclusion of The Trojan Horse (which for some reason was just slightly more disjointed than the average episode of The Border) and the season premiere of Dr. Who (which was enjoyable until just before the end).
