Time shifting, ripping cds, and copying from VHS to DVD are all illegal?

Man. [livejournal.com profile] pyat, save me a seat at the commissary lunch table.

There's more at Cippic.ca. It's very university student ish, but interesting.

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] jefferyab for the link.

Amusingly, I was just writing about this for a paper this week.

If you watch this with the sound off, it's rather like a fan-made episode of Bewitched, if Samantha had a bondage fetish.

Just image the girl wiggling her nose everytime the cuffs appear!

And now you know why I've repeatedly posted about copyright reform on my own blog. On the other hand, one thing that we do have in Canada is the right to copy music off other people (since we pay a levy on every blank CD and tape, we get to do what the levy pays for) - any copyright law reform shouldn't be taking any existing rights away from us as consumers. Unfortunately, if we don't make our voices known to our MPs, then only the voices they are hearing (mostly those of the mass media conglomerates) will count in the long run.
