Whoa - last time I saw Ridley Bent was in Kingston a few years ago, where he was trying to sell people on this crappy blend of folk and hip-hop - it sucked, only gullible folkies were taken in, thinking this stuff was "just like hip-hop," while me and a handful of other young people made faces and crept out of the room at the first possible opportunity. He wrote great hooks tho; it's good to see him moving into a field he can actually do, though a very odd transformation to see him go from the vaguely street-wear stuff he had on then to a ten gallon hat and an embroidered shirt.
