Also for the Halo enthousiasts, remember there was a model of the Warthog in Halo 3 that had just cargo capacity instead of the gun mounts. All the more troop storage!

Ayep. There was a civilian model advertised on street posters in Halo 2. Also very cool. I REALLY wanted the toy version of the Hog.

SARGE: May I introduce the our new sport utility vehicle! It has an E85 FlexFuel 3.6-liter SIDI V-6 engine, traction all-wheel drive, removable doors and roof panels, and total seating for four. Gentlemen, this is the Hummer HX Concept! I like to call it the Warthog.

SIMMONS: Why Warthog, sir?

SARGE: Because "Hummer HX Concept" is too hard to say in conversation, son.

GRIFF: No, but... Why Warthog? I mean, it doesn't really look like a pig.

SARGE: Say that again.

GRIFF: I think it looks more like a puma.

SARGE: What in Sam Hill is a puma?

SIMMONS: You mean like the shoe company?

GRIFF: No. Like a puma. It's a big cat. Like a lion.

SARGE: You're makin' that up.

GRIFF: I'm telling you, it's a real animal.

SARGE: Simmons, I want you to poison Griff's next meal.

SIMMONS: Yes, sir!

SARGE: Look, see these recovery hooks mounted on the front and rear bumpers? They look like tusks. And what kind of animal has tusks?

GRIFF: A walrus.

SARGE: Didn't I just tell you to stop makin' up animals?

What a cute little toy! But if I ever did decide to get something that can push through forests and buildings with equal ease, I'd go for the original Hummer. If I'm going to get 2 mpg anyway, then I'd prefer the extra room.

As for the Warthog in Halo, it's too damn top-heavy and tippy. Trying to corner in a vehicle like that "at speed" would just result in another "We regret to inform you" letter from the military.

And for gamera_spinning: see the sunroof? The gunner pops out there. :-)

Thankfully, Spartan armour is better than an airbag.

Actually, I think it would be really cool to take one of those Cortana figures and connect it to the USB port of the PC, coupled with a text-to-speech module, so that it flickers as your computer "talks" to you. Now THAT would be a geek toy.
