The new Batman trailer!

edit: To be honest, DK has not been really interesting me that much (yes, yes, I'll see it in IMAX 3d, yes, yes) and the trailer does little one way or the other to affect that.

I think the makeup, while nice looking (and possibly a little creepy), just doesn't look like The Joker except in the most general sense.

Maybe I just need to see it on a big screen, so the light will shine on my inner lizard/geek brain.

This was all just supposed to be a Rickroll, dammit.

You know, I have to agree. I've been nothing but excited about this movie, but this trailer didn't, I don't know, have quite the right vibe. Like, it took awesome ingredients, but the recipe wasn't followed correctly, and the product came out tasting funny.

Hopefully, it's just the trailer that has that effect.

I feel slightly less heeby about it having seen that, but I remain to be convinced by Heath Ledger in pretty much anything (especially after rewatching Knight's Tale last night).

And was it me, or did it seem a bit, well, bright?

I could have sworn that there was at least one shot of Batman that looked like he was standing on a building in the daytime. That just ain't right.

I'm quite fond of Knight's Tale for its rampant silliness (plus a mate of ours is in the joust crowd at the beginning), but Ledger's alright in it rather than anything awesome. Mark Addy and Paul Bettany steal the show.

I can understand (and actually really like) the make-up style as a way to emphasize the Joker's utter insanity, making him look down-right crazy instead (and thus even scarier). But from that trailer I just didn't get the bat-shit insane vibe from Heath.
