Have you seen these little "writer's block" thingies? Isn't that cute?

Well, the easy answer is shaving my head. I actually waited until Cynra was out of town at Worldcon. [livejournal.com profile] the_adzo, who'd recently done it himself, helped me out.

The reason is a simple one: I've got baldness genes on my mom's side, and they'd come to claim their due. I figured it was either get regular haircuts to keep from looking like an idiot (or Larry Fine) or go all the way.

It's been mostly bald for the past five years, but I tend to get lazy and not shave. Today, I think I'm two weeks into it. Thankfully I have a beard trimmer/hair clipper to use.

That's pretty much it. Otherwise, the most drastic change was not getting a haircut for a while. It went okay until my girlfriend blow dried my hair and I ended up with a massive afro. That was pretty much the only time.

No tattoos, no piercings, no sudden fashion rearrangements. I'm just a bit too boring for that.

Being bald myself, I can sympathise, Justin. :)

That said, I have never had the desire to go completely shaved since the one time I tried it when I was in my late 20's, I just didn't find it all that comfortable. Different strokes, literally, for different folks and all. :)

The only problems with baldness are 1) freezine one's head off in winter if one doesn't wear hats; and 2) sweat in the eyes and face, since there's no hair up there to absorb it. *sigh*
