I... I don't know how I feel about this. I adore Simon Pegg, but... I dunno.

See, I've never seen his straight work. I'll have to check that out, and that might help my cognitive dissonance.

Think "Hot Fuzz" without the comedy.

God the man could play a Vulcan.

He can do straight.

I'm going to have to think about this one.

I'm down. It's not like Scotty brought the gravitas, anyway. Cho as Sulu could be interesting.

In a world where a Dominican actress is tasked to play a Honduran refugee speaking Babelfish-level Spanish -- the much-maligned Maya, from Heroes -- no ethnicity is safe anymore.

The comments for practically every review of the season so far list the Toxic Twins (or "The Mexicans," as they're often reffered to) as a negative aspect for the show.

Myself, I just wish the show would find a Latino with superpowers who's not coming into the show F'd up (the twins with their migratory plight, and Isaac for being a junkie).

Very true. He was much more compelling as one of the Geico Cavemen.

Have you seen Hot Fuzz?

I dunno, I don't see it. I like Pegg, and I'm sure he could do a good accent but... he just doesn't look anything like Scotty. I know that's probably not the standard you should go by, but when you've started off with the casting of Sylar who kinda looks like a Spock, and Chekov kind of looks like a Chekov (the others I haven't seen pictures of so I can't really judge), it's kinda disappointing to suddenly be thrown to "Scrawny balding guy who looks nothing like Scotty, as Scotty!"

I was still kinda hoping for Paul McGillion of Stargate Atlantis, who I thought would have done a decent job at it.

(And I still think Gary Sinise would be a great McCoy).

I agree, I think McGillion would've been better. Scotty is older than the rest of the crew, but Pegg at 37 might be a little too old. Plus, James Doohan was a good looking chap in his younger days, whereas Pegg is, um, not.

If they get Sinise as McCoy, it doesn't matter WHO else they get. Sinise is More Deforest Kelly than Dee Kelly Himself.

After Enterprise, does it really matter what they do to the Star Trek universe?

It might be sad, but it still matters to me.

The finale confirmed what I'd suspected all along: Enterprise didn't happen in the Star Trek universe. It happened on the holodeck, in an "historical recreation".

It's my opinion that said "recreation" was about as "historical" as Xena, Warrior Princess.

If only we could say the same about the entire Berman/Piller Trek run.

So what if he's doing Star Trek? He did Doctor Who first.
