Well, I guess he can't be to everyone's taste.

Blender Magazine has prepared a Worst Lyricists list, and Neil Peart has found himself at #2 (coming in just after Sting).
Blender described Canadian rocker Peart's lyrics as "richly awful tapestries of fantasy and science".
Ouch.

tapestries of fantasy and science

Never heard of him, but that sounds cool, to me.

D'ya think maybe Blender just isn't in touch with prog-rock at all?

I have no love for "Bytor and the Snow-dog," but Peart should be lauded for writing songs about things other than boy-meets-girl-under-silvery-moon and then inevitably wants her back.

Doug.

I like this title much better than the one you used at yyz. :)

Roughly Translated:

"He uses big words and ideas that make our heads hurt."

Frankly, if you change the order of two words you get a much better description:

"awefully rich tapestries of fantasy and science".
