Back to the trenches
Aug. 12th, 2007 11:08 pmVacation's over, so it's back to work tomorrow. Gosh darnit.
Did both the Hot & Spicy food festival yesterday and Taste of the Danforth today.
Friday we went to the Merrill and dropped off my entire collections of Vampire, Werewolf & most of my Mage. It's strange to see most of a decade's worth of books just racked up on a cart.
I mean, those are a LOT of books, and I've spent a long time accumulating them through hook and crook (and occasionally commerce). I had always planned to run a few Werewolf: the Apocalypse games. It's a fun setting. But, honestly, I'll never get to run it. At this point, I've got enough games I would like to run that I never will that take up much less space.
They'll get my TORG books when they pry them from my cold, dead fingers.
The librarian who took receipt of them was very freindly, and very excited to see them all. Apparently the head librarian will be away for a few weeks (I suspect to Nippon) so I won't hear what they can use for a few weeks.
Hmmm. Maybe I should have got some kind of confirmation from her. Nah. They know what it was.
Hot & Spicy was kind of okay. There was no BBQ with racks of jerk chicken waiting to be bought, which was disappointing. I did get a few bottles of curry paste, apparently from a producer here in Milton..
Afterwards we went up to Hamilton to go to
pyat and
velvetpage's for some hangin' oot. We also played Apples to Apples (awesome game) and
nottheterritory tried to get us to play Exciting Contraption or something, and failed because the energy levels had started to ebb.
Taste of the Danforth was nice. Went with Cynra,
redeem147 and her husband. I had some Brazillian, a gyro, and some satay. And we took Cynra for some Saganakibecause she'd never had it. Man, I love that stuff.

Date: 2007-08-13 03:27 am (UTC)Meh, it's cool. (Note to self - take him off the "don't kill these people when you take over the world" list...)
Just kidding - glad you enjoyed TOTD. The food looked great, I'm just not big on stupid levels of stupid people, which was what Friday night was all about there.

Date: 2007-08-13 03:14 pm (UTC)It was not terribly crowded during the rain, but once it cleared up it got kind of busy.
What we should do someday is go to the Red Violin.

Date: 2007-08-13 03:10 pm (UTC)I think I have all the Infiniverse editions digitally.
I am missing Berlin and possibly Tokyo citybooks, but I have LA for sure.
I'd love a copy of Interview with a High Lord or whatever it was called.
I do not have the Kanawa Guides to Stuff, but didn't enjoy them that much in any case.

Date: 2007-08-14 01:25 am (UTC)The two biggest on my 'to get' list are Cyberpapacy and GodNet, with maybe Tharkhold following it. Everybody keeps giving it a 'Terminator meets Hellraiser' tag which certainly sounds interesting.
