On the days when I'm off work or sick, I avoid watching soap operas like the plague. Stef used to tell me that she loved watching afternoon soaps for a variety of reasons, but that was then and this is now.
Why the heck aren't you watching a good DVD or some such from your collection?
ohmigod! How could you not love Passions!?!?! srsly! I mean...the constant same dialog every single day for weeks at a time! It took a whole week just for Luis to die, and you know he ain't dead! Plus poor Theresa! How many days did she have to sit in that chair and get electrocuted and beg Sher-Sher for her life for our entertainment!? That's dedication right there..Shame on you for not enjoying it.
PASSIONS has always kind of seemed like DARK SHADOWS for mundanes too embarrassed to watch a daytime vampire soap, but just dumb enough to accept a daytime witchcraft and aliens soap.
Daytime television in general is not something I willingly submit myself to, despite the fact that I work from home. Yes, you can see Star Trek: Voyager at 11am on City, but that's really about it, and only if you're into Star Trek. The rest of it - the game shows and soap operas - has been known to turn people into eggplants if they watch for too long. You have been warned...
