Busy crazy stuff lately.

Took in Daywatch w/ Cynra & [livejournal.com profile] redeem147 on Tuesday. Good film, very enjoyable, lots of neat stuff. The director (or the guy who did the music, at least) is very fond of this one piece of guitar rock.

Wednesday I was planning on doing my character for the new SuperCops campaign. Those plans got tossed into a cocked hat when the battery on Cynra's ride gave way. So, she got CAA to come by, and they said her battery was fucked, but she could get it replaced, saying so in a way that suggested VERY STRONGLY she would get it as part of her coverage (i.e. gratis). So the tow truck gets there, and says "no, not battery, alternator. I'll take you to get it replaced."

Okay, fine. In any case, I got to go pick her up and get her home. There was Wendy's eaten, and Dr. Who watched (Utopia and The Sound of Drums and allow me Okay, so, the only other time lord is a mustache twirling villain? I'm surprised he didn't take a moment to tie Smith and Emo Boy to the tracks while he was up there. I did dig the insectoid lab assistant. And the most tiny morsel of info about the Time War is fascinating. The quarry was a nice touch.

I did notice while out to pick up milk that the Great Canadian Superstore had about half its lights on (which, for the slow kids out there, means they had half of them off) and the temperature was comfortable, but not frigid. Good move, that.

Game was a good chargen/first session. All the current Thursday Nighters were in attendance, which made it crowded. But don't worry, that won't happen too often. The character was titled William "Bill" Eades; thanks to all that offered suggestions.

dh & I saw Daywatch last weekend and we both liked it very much!
We had rented Nightwatch sometime in the winter and I liked it even though I'm not really into vampire movies. Every second movie these days seems like it's about a battle to save the world so I was kind of rolling my eyes at the beginning but I stuck with it and really liked what the director did with it.
I thought the way he represented the other world, the one that only the most powerful ones could get to (whatever they were called), really well. And I liked how he pulled it all together at the end, although dh didn't understand why he had to go back to THAT particular bit of wall. And we thought the credits at the end of Daywatch, on the billboards by the side of the road and the comments were a clever touch.

glad to hear you enjoyed it too!
