Wow. There's apparently a Harry Potter convention coming to the T.Dot in August.

That's pretty cool. They've got a nice downtown location (although the website makes the Sheraton look way nicer than I've ever seen it)

This is the musical lineup:

The concert is going to be amazing!! Starting off we have The Whomping Willows. Then The Remus Lupins, Draco and the Malfoys and finally Harry and the Potters. They will all have CDs for sale along with other merchandise.

I won't be going but surely SOMEONE out there is enough a fan to go. Selina? Lynn?

A friend of mine has asked me if I want to go with her. We are both interested, but live on a budget. We want to go on the Saturday only, but one day passes doesn't seem to be an option!! That sounds like a bad policy for increasing attendance.

They aren't doing this option just in case they sell out, as they did for the Lumos convention held in Vegas last July. However, the Witching Hour in Salem did have this option after the convention was under way, so it might be possible.

So you're saying the Sheraton isn't worth it? Man my kid better really appreciate me for this then, since tickets were $175 each and the hotel is $180 a night for 5 nights.

Oh, it's a great hotel, and located right downtown. But the photo of the exterior looks a lot prettier than I've ever seen it.

The thing is, this really isn't a fan convention... it's technically an academic conference (not like any I've ever attended before), with actually college credit hour accumulations for certain lectures.

I must be spoiled, when I visit my mum and stay in a hotel it never costs more than $50- $60 a night, but that's because it's Vegas. When we go anywhere else, we usually stay in Hostels which are so reasonable, but for the whole being there experience, I opted to stay at the hotel, so I hope it works out well. (cause it will suck if I passed up the $30 a night hostel a mile away for mere convenience).
