Props to [livejournal.com profile] dewline for getting his letter published in the latest Astro City.

It's not Penthouse, but it's still cool.

Holy crap, Justin...

There are still comics that have letter columns??

Something that I have never forgiven DC for doing away with in their books! :<

I still don't understand the logic of it either, myself. Kudos to Kurt and company for holding onto theirs.

I jsut find it interesting to hear that someone out there in comics' land still values the input of the readers of the comic in the printed publication that the fans are actually talking about.

The logic of the lack of letter columns can likely be explained by the presence of the internet and the various forums devoted to all manner of stuff pertaining to the comic. Heck, I still remember the days when LSH fans could vote for the next Legion Leader. *nostalgic sigh*

Depending on how things go over the next year, I wonder if we can't push to see that voting happen again.

Hey, that would be cool. I always thought the fan voting for leader was interesting at times, although I remember Element Lad and Wildfire being voted into power a couple of times - with interesting results! :)

So, where would one start asking questions about this?

I had a letter published in Thor back in the... early 90s. They pretty much ignored anything I said and put some cheeseball reply to like one line.

A good friend of mine wrote a long ass letter that took up like 1/3rd of the letter page, with well thought out and written points, to which they gave some lame-ass one liner reply in Uncanny X-men.

Those bastards, how dare they not send you a No-Prize.
