Naw. This wasn't Twilight Zone (and you mean Rod Serling). There wasn't a supernatural or sf element.

But two totally selfish characters who turn on each other and die buried alive because of their own greed is classic Tales of the Crypt.

Yes, but Rod Serling is dead. They would have needed wires and stuff, and it would have been creepy. Forrest Whitaker is alive, and would enjoy a trip to Hawaii.
