So, yeah...
Mar. 7th, 2007 11:03 pmToday is, of course NCBD, so I figured I'd head to my FNSLCS and pick up the big issue. They actually held a copy for me after I called. Some guy asked me "Are you going to buy that?" No, goof, I'm gonna Byrne-steal it and put it back on the shelf.
For fun, check out the thread on The Death of Capn' A on the MSN boards. I don't know what's scarier, that you guys have nukes or you live next to us (little from column A, little from column B).
Anyway, the real disappointment was The Initiative #1, which I thought was the Slott book. Not so. Got the launch of the Omega Flight, where we learn that Sasquatch, while not dead, was beaten so badly that he lost most of his body mass. Seriously, it was like a reverse-Liefeld. The guy was a football player.
And do they have to put a Captain America reject and the guy who killed Alpha Flight on the new team? Dammit. Apparently the guy was a mutant who absorbed other mutant's powers (Mistah Petrelli?) and absorbed the powers of Xorn, which I think means he can pretend to not be Magneto for long periods of time. Dunno.
Feh. At least the burrito was good. And the Shazam! comic.

Date: 2007-03-08 03:39 pm (UTC)Trust me, this was so incompetently managed that it's hardly a reward. If they'd, say, told retaillers to get extra copies and over-printed, then I'd be suspicious.

Date: 2007-03-08 07:59 am (UTC)Some of us down here feel the same way, and we have to live here. I think killing him off is interesting from a symbolic PoV, but I'm sadly betting he'll be back in 6 months ala the whole death of Superman thing. It doesn't matter to me anyway, since the only Marvel Universe titles I read are Ultimate ones.
