Taking it one step further

I assume everyone's seen the Star Article by Nikki Stafford & Marlene Arpe about Buffy Season 8 (although they spend surprisingly little time actually discussing the new series).

Marlene is a fairly good entertainment writer for the Star, someone who seems to actually enjoy genre entertainment. Nikki is the author of a variety of books also about genre stuff, from Alias to Buffy & Angel to Lost.

At the end, there's a link to Nikki's blog, and I've setup a feed for her Blog on LJ.

You assume wrong, sir, and so I thank you for posting it.

That said, I'll read the first issue and then probably peruse the eventual collection, but that image of them leaping from the plane doesn't do much for me, and while it makes sense that Buffy's still fighting, I liked the ambiguous finale, the thought that she could end it if she wanted to. Commando Sky Diver Buffy minimizes that somewhat, and even if Whedon does pen some issues, comics based on TV almost never ring true; the cutesy dialogue of BUFFY, for example, reads terribly contrived and clumsy in comics.
