So, Dreamgirl Beyonce "No Relation to Harry" Knowles has been chosen as cover girl for this year's Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition.

I, like I'm sure many of us, am surprised to learn that SI actually publishes the other 51 weeks of the year. So, dear readers, I ask, do you read this athletic periodical?

Part of the reason I don't read it is the afore-mentioned swimsuit issue, in fact.

And also because they, too, have the dubious practice of issuing a split-run "Canadian edition".

And also because I see no reason to give them money when there's so much reasonably informed sports discussion freely available on the internet. I can already fill my allotted "sports time" with that, so I have no need to for SI.

(And what the heck is Beyoncé doing pimping for SI? Is her career really that much in the tank? Or is this SI's idiotic attempt to dignify their odious practice with a "name"?)
