So, yeah. Where I been at?

Thursday night game got cancelled, so Cynra & I had burritos at Chorizos. Actually, niether of us had a burrito, per se. She had the taco salad, and I had a steak fajita. But, yum in any case.

En route, I stopped off at my FNSLCS. They're in mid renovations, so they have the entirety of the front window taken up with long boxes, and sheets of 8x11" paper saying "we are open". I told them they should put up a big sheet that says "I assure you, we are open", but they didn't get it. What the hell kinda comic store guys, right?

We got to get into an argument over what was better, Superman Returns or X-Men: The last Stand. I can't remember what side I took, or even what we decided. But it was fun. I got the Spider-Ham story and regreted it. I got 52 and revelled in the beauty that is Egg Fu.

Saturday was the Halo party. Props go out to [livejournal.com profile] rentagurkha for the birthday present, muchas gracias, and to [livejournal.com profile] malliabu for a last minute pickup of [livejournal.com profile] madmanofprague. [livejournal.com profile] atomiks brought his cousin along, and we all got to enjoy the pain of getting pwned by a 12 year old. Ah, did I ever have reflexes that good? We over-ordered Vito's which was a bit of a shock, but that gave us extra pizza, huzzah. Much fun was had, including a set of rocket launcher tourism, where we played rocket launcher slayer on way too many maps.

Sunday was pretty quiet, with some gift cards being disposed of; Cynra picked up Remington Steele season 1 and the complete Alien Nation, and I picked up the only piece of non-WoW Mac software in the shop, the Starcraft battle chest. Huzzah for 1999!

I played a couple missions, and it was fun. Anyone out there still playing Starcraft?

Oo, Starcraft. I played it once or twice. My drug of choice is Diablo II.

The battle chest is worth the money because you get the game and the expansion. Oddly enough, it also has the original game but not the Hellfire expansion for that. I don't know if they've ever reprinted the strategy manual that comes with it, but I think mine was already outdated by the time I got it.

Starcraft is THE game in South Korea. It is the "professional gamer's game" and has television shows dedicated to it and championships of it.

Just say it on a documentary the other day. I was surprised that they are so hooked on it, but it is sci-fi and it was good, so...

Don't feel too bad about Matt - he apparently started finishing his homework at school for two weeks, so he could come home and practice every night until the event.

With 4 hours of practice daily for two weeks, I'd probably be a pretty good shot too!
