June 23, 2006 --
US Forces in Iraq today announced that they had lost Baghdad. "Seriously," announced Major General Louis McDougal "we had it right here. And now, poof."
A Marine Force Recon platoon has been dispatched to search behind the fridge and the couch, and even checked in the basement, to no avail.
McDougal was dismayed with the delay in the search. "Seriously, this is a thousands year old city here. You don't just misplace something like that."
Posters with the picture of Baghdad on the front have been placed on telephone poles in Tikrit and Basra, and a $350 reward has been listed for its return. Anyone spotting Baghdad is asked to call the Baghdad Come Home number, 1-888-983-4727.
