The hat thing doesn't bother me so much because I have been known to do that on a regular basis, with the caveats that a) my hat is a cabbie/Gatsby cap, not the more pervasive baseball cap, and b) I'm not a guy except in the proverbial, generic non-gender "you guys" sense. ^_^
The sunglasses thing, though -- WHAT THE SHIT IS UP WITH THAT. I have never gotten why that's a fashion statement. Are they trying to protect the eyes in the back of their heads from the sun shining out of their arses?
