So, last night Cynra & I finally managed to watch the pilot for Global Frequency. The comic series was a mixed bag; a dozen individual issues, each with a different artist and scripted to match those artist's strengths. The stories moved all over the place, and was the definition of an anthology series, although it did introduce parkour to a nation desperate to love again.

The pilot looked to be a little more traditional; it looked like the cop and the hot yet socially awkward scientist were gonna be globetrotting to solve crimes/defuse mobile nuclear holocausts, with the help of an international conglomorate of interests. The casting was well done, for Aleph and Miranda at least. I wonder if that role helped Forbes get cast as Caine. In any case, it was enjoyable.

Kind of a shame that it didn't get picked up, although the story ("The HAPPY ending is our hero shoots an innocent man in the face") is a bit of a hard sell. The various plotlines that could have followed (Norweigen Black Metal church burners, alien meme viruses, satellite death weapons, etc) if they'd followed the books are hardly any cheerier.
