Do I really need to cut this stuff?

Okay, so, Benry has a tumor on his spine. He found out about this the day before Oceanic 815 crashed.

What is one of the effects that we have noticed on the island? What does it do to people? It makes them whole. Locke could walk, Rose's disease was cured.

But Benry, who says he's lived on the island his entire life, is going to die of a spinal tumor.

Why? Is there something about him, something different caused by being on the island? Is the tumor a fake, to get Jack to operate on something else?

Healing is, in essence, cellular regeneration and replacement, no?

A tumour occurs when cells do not stop reproducing and repairing themselves.

That's a good theory. Too much of a good thing. What would be neat was if the others were really, REALLY old. Like, the kids of the people who were on the Black Rock. Benry could just be breaking down after all that time.

Drew's theory that the effect goes away is another interesting one.
