I missed the Shatner roast. Some found it amusing, some were offended. But, personally, I didn't see it.

Until [livejournal.com profile] pyat linked me to this clip of George Takei's bit. Oh, man. I swear, the last time I saw him it was "I'd like to consolidate my coins into bills, please", and now it's THIS?

How the mighty have gotten liquored up.

Oh, Christmas. Clint Howard as Balock.

I'm mystified why people find this kind of thing funny. Not meaning that I think it's wrong to find it funny, It's just that it doesn't seem all that funny to me. Perhaps this kind of thing taps on the same set of neurons that service the "parody" part of the funny bone, which seem to be completely inactive in my brain?

I just kept thinking "oh my does poor Farah look uncomfortable", and "who's that lady in the turquoise bedsheet?", and "is this what's left of the remnants of your career, Jason Alexander? Are you the Jamie Farr of the tweener-generation?"
