Night at home
Sep. 28th, 2006 12:20 pmCurry was successful last night, but it was practically by accident. We'd been calling back and forth to make sure we had enough ingredients ("Cream okay?" "Check!" "Cilantro?" "Check!" "Check the chicken?" "Chicken checked!"), so the fact I never remembered we were out of the actual curry mix (Patak's, ask for it by name) was kind of embarassing.
Thankfully, we were just out of the mild curry, leaving us a bottle of Vindaloo to use. The problem there, ya see, is that Vindaloo is, by its nature, hot. No, really. It says so on the bottle. I'd been saving it for when Cynra left town for a few days.
Thankfully, I had a bottle of lager to kill the Vindaloo (because Lager is... Ah, never mind), but Cynra doesn't drink... Beer.
So, we did things the creative way, adding a single serving's worth of spice to extra amounts of chicken, tomatoes, cream and cilantro. It came out nice and tasty, and in the process we got two days worth of leftovers.
The Lost recap episode was on last night, in anticipation of the new season starting next week. Although it's a shame to lose the melifluous tones of Peter Coyote, it was well put together, for a summary. Putting two seasons worth of story into a single hour long episode is apparently so tough that it could have just as easily been done in ten minutes without adding significant information.
I can't wait to hear more about the Others. Looking like fun. Six weeks of episodes, a few months of Taye Diggs, and then the rest. I can live with that.
