Well, last night NCB premiered its new superpowered people TV show, Heroes. Some people liked it a lot. Some disliked it equally. In the interest of asking people random questions, what did you think?

[Poll #830516]

Feel free to elucidate in the comments.

It's like they all rolled their characters up out of a Central Casting book!

The artist is also the reason they're doing the online 'graphic novels' per episode.

But - overly reliant on exposition? In a -pilot-? Who knew? ;P

Hiro is the main character in every anime ever made. ;)

I rate it well above Jerico and below Eureka on my "new season" show-o-meter.

Heroes is not yet a "Must Watch", but I do want to watch at least one more episode before I pass gladiatorial arena style judgement on it.

This is teh internets! Here you must pass instant, passionate and permanent judgment on all things whether you have actually watched them (or even a commercial for them) yet or not.

Hence my not making a comment on the show itself.

Heroes gets a "superhero pass" to start going somewhere.

Man, right? Any other show starts out like this, I'm never watching it again. But because it's got superheroes in it, even though I didn't really like it, I'm sure I'll be in front of the box again Monday. I suck.

Eureka has a neat concept but is too trite for my taste. Of course, I only watched the first 3-4 episodes before getting fed up with it.

Man-oh-man, you and I are from completely different planet, critically! Of course, on the other hand, I can barely tell the difference between a cabernet sauvignon and a pinot noir ... so critically I'm a bit suspect anyway.

Eureka? I managed to sit through it, fidgeting more and more, but knowing that if I picked up a book [livejournal.com profile] corbits would call my "watching the TV" bluff and take control of the remote, somehow managing to find an episode of Everyone Loves Raymond she's only seen a dozen times.

Jericho? There's a lot about it I like, but then I've always been an fan of apocalyptic-event fiction. So far this is my favourite of the three.

Heroes, as [livejournal.com profile] thebitterguy says, gets a 'Superhero pass' for an episode or two. However considering the degree of exposition required to set the show up (which may be an unforgivable failing in the eyes of some) I'd roll that back yet another episode before my TV-watching habits take me elsewhere.

Still, I like the characters I've seen. I like what they've shown us so far. And I prefer it to Eureka.

Doug.

Where's "eh"?

I watched about 10 minutes of it, and didn't dislike it, but wasn't interested enough to keep watching as opposed to getting up and playing WoW.

Thumbs up. The first episode had all the twists and turns that nabbed my attention. Let's hope it'll stay as cool as the first episode.

I enjoyed it, on the whole. I might've liked Web Cam Mom more if we got to see her kicking ass. Favorite was Super Hiro, but I expect that was inevitable as we both have Godzilla on our desks. It felt a little bit too Lost-like in some parts, seeing stuff on the TV for bits that other characters'd just had. (Though do note I'd recently watched the whole bit on 'Connectivity' on the Lost Season 2 DVD.)

I think it's too early to tell. It's still in the process of setting everything up. That being said, Super Hiro is easily the best of the lot we've seen. The nurse is a whiny punk, and I totally did not expect the brother to be the one who flew.

Professor-turned-taxi driver is intriguing to me. Artist dude didn't have enough air time to say anything about him, really.

I kinda like the indestructible chick; her father was somewhat of a twist. I think it's got lots of potential, and I'll be watching it for a few weeks before I make a decision on it. (As a rule of thumb, I like to give a new show at least 3 episodes.)
