But I know what looks neat.

Joe Johnson.com has Wally Wood's "22 Panels that always work".

I know some of y'all do comix stuff, so it's of interest to at least some. If you just like to read about artists doing work, it's also interesting.

That is very interesting stuff, and it's smart visual storytelling too. Thank you very much! Dialogue pages are harder to draw well than action scenes (yet are very popular with those "writer" wankers who want to show off their writin' skillz), and Wally understood how to make it work. As simple as those are, they're virtually timeless due to their solid compositions.

Nod. I saw this item featured on boingboing.net the other day and was intrigued enough to follow the link.

I also wondered if anyone thought of mixing up just these 22 panels and adding their own dialogue to come up with an off beat little graphic story.

I've had hardcopy of that for several years now. It's solved any number of problems for me.

The coolest thing about that is that you can see where EVERYONE else has used those panels now.

The other thing that I love about Wally Wood is the fact that he considered it a personal challenge each time he drew or inked Power Girl to make her breasts look bigger and bigger before he was told to knock it off by an editor.
