Thoughts on Heroes

Saw the pilot via someone. First off, let me tell you, wicked, WICKED little boys they are for letting this 'leak'. Oh, there was enthusiasm previously (I'm guilty about that), but once all the proto fanboys and girls get their orbs on this sucker, I don't doubt it'll give much great enthusiasm for the show.

First: Snarkboy wishes to speak. I loved this story the first time I saw it. When it was called DP7.

Man, he's a jerk. However, if we could get a good Spitfire and the Troubleshooters TV show, I'd be all over that.

In any case, the show seems interesting. The cheerleader is not invulnerable (she gets dinged and scratched and OW, the thing with the ribs!), but has apparently a wolverine level healing factor.

The SpaceTime Sarariman character is an interesting fellow (although I'd have to go back and double check his reference to X-Men 143), although the usual suspects will unleash a hue and cry of mary sue and fan service. God, I hate those fuckers. Don't be those fuckers, people!

Apparently, the cleverest pun ever (the name Hiro for a protagonist character) has spread to the mainstream. Avert your eyes, children!

Overall, the show looks interesting. I hope it manages to combine forward motion of plot with some good characterization. It'll be interesting to see what they do with teh concept of "people with powers in the real world". I wonder what'll happen if Super-Politician gets outed. And I think there's another character or two who's missing from what I've seen so far.
