Heard an interview about The Story of Chicago May on the CBC today. Anyone read it?

Sounds like a fascinating exploration of early 20th century life.

I tried to read it. Couldn't get into it, despite my interest in the topic. Didn't find the writing style to be very "welcoming", and it made what should have been a thoroughly enticing topic very dry (for me.)

That's too bad. It sounded interesting. The author certainly seemed engaged with her subject.
