At The Savage Critic, Jeff Lester did not like Krrish.

KRRISH: As Treacher predicted, I thought Krrish was krrrap. Considering I liked Koi...Mil Gaya, an amazing cinematic combo E.T., Flowers for Algernon and Spider-Man, I figured my bars were properly lowered for Krrrish. But I was wrong. While I figured that there most of the superheroics would be in the second half, I had no idea the first half would be an awful summer-camp style romantic comedy nor that the filmmakers would figure the best movie they could choose to rip off for the last third of the film would be Paycheck. (I mean, Jesus! Paycheck?!) Interestingly, Krrish has a lot more of the traditional Superman-Lois dynamic (in that feisty gal reporter Priya stages a life-endangering stunt or two to force Krishna to reveal himself as superhero Krrish) then Superman Returns does. But that's maybe the only interesting thing about it. It sucked, frankly.

I disagree, personally, but he's dead on with the Paycheck line. I was afraid my tired mind was making that up.

... he's dead on with the Paycheck line ...

Hey! Don't be dissing Paycheck! 8)

Seriously, I know that there's lots of buzz against Paycheck, but judged on its own merits (not as a star vehicle, or action film, or caper film) it's a solid and enjoyable piece of work (at least, I found it to be so).

As to Krrish, I probably won't be able to view this one without (a) waiting a long time for our local art-movie-rental outfit to get it on DVD, or (b) driving long distances. Judging from what I've seen of it, I don't think (b) is a viable option. I'm not against Bollywood material on principle, but I appear to have a fairly high native resistance to its charms...

I'm the cause of a small misunderstanding... when you said Paycheck I thought you mean Payback. I would stand up and defend the latter. The former, however, I would not defend and you were right to make "meh" noises. 8) I found myself wondering what Woo, Thurman, Giamatti, Feore, and Eckhart were thinking when they let Affleck into the room. The only conclusion I could come to was that originally the studio had lined up Ed Norton (or someone similarly respectable) and that he'd pulled and Affleck had popped up with his cheery grin on at the last minute, "Hey guys! Can I be in your picture?"

::shudder::

As for the travel time, touche; I will plead to being much more interested in Robin's game than Bollywood meets Supes. 8)
