The Cast list for the animated Dragonlance film has been announced.

Lucy Lawless as Goldmoon? Eh. Kiefer Sutherland as Raistlin? Oh, that'll work. I can't wait for the draconian torture scenes.

Phil Lamarr is also in it. Why? Because he's in EVERY ANIMATED THING EVER.

The FAQ is interesting, as it completely ignores the question of wether it'll be released to theatres or what. (edit: Woohoo! Theatrical, instead of DtV. That's good)

Now, you see, I've never seen the Jack Bauer show. When I think of Kiefer, I think of all his movie roles, and in this instance, most especially, the gaspy, asthmatic Doctor from Dark City. Admittedly, I only read the first book, and that was way back when it first came out, but from what I remember of gaspy, sickly Raistlin, Sutherland the Younger is PERFECT.

When I read that, I thought of the doctor he played in Dark City as well. Makes perfect sense to me. It might actually be worth watching when it makes it to DVD.

Even if it is animated, I still haven't forgotten the pain that was the D&D movie, so I'm especially reluctant to go see it at the cinema...

I feel like its 1986. I'm talking about Dragonlance in a good way.

Well, mostly a good way, so maybe 1987.

What is this "Dragon's Lance" of which people speak? Does it have something to do with this "Dragons and Dungeons" thing I also keep hearing about?

You know, when you say it that way it all sounds like porn.

Dungeons have featured porn-worthy chained-up girls since the before D&D's release. ;)

I think Phil Lamarr is some sort of union requirement. Everything either has to have him or Billy West in it.

For all my younger gamergeek peeps, I hope this does well and fulfills your hopes and expectations.
