Apparently, Seasons in the Sun is indeed about a guy who's dying and not, in fact, planning on committing suicide. I think that's the only way to make that song more depressing.

I never saw it as a suicide song. I always hated that song, since going out with a "downer"-addicted girl over twenty years ago for whom the song was a favourite.

I ask you, what teen-age girl needs to take downers? As if being a teen-ager can't be depressing enough.
