If you called up a buddy, and at the end of the call you said "Okay, love you, bye."

Because you're used to saying that when you call an SO or spouse, I mean. Not that it's some kind of Freudian slip. That would be awkward too; perhaps more so.

I've done that before...most recently, though, I did it in e-mail. I was having one of those deeply shitty days where nothing goes right, and I was replying to a friend's e-mail but midway through I forgot who I was writing to (as in, I thought it was a note to Von) and ended it, "Don't worry, the day will get better. Meantime...love you lots!"

I hit "Send" and then *instantly* realized what I'd done. I'm still living it down.
