thebitterguy: (Canada Day)

First off, thanks to [livejournal.com profile] kynn for putting together a delightful summary of the past week's rather tepid conflict.

Today was, as it is every year, Canada Day. To celebrate, Cynra and I once again took in the Metro Toronto Zoo. We did a walk around the zoo, taking in many of the wonderful creatures there. The Gorilla exhibit is always nice; the silverback male of the troop would occasionally sprint past the viewing window, smacking into it with his fist, generally scaring the crap out of anyone standing there.

We also went down to the Canadian section, where there was cake and face painting (and a clown). Many of the animals took a chance to nap in the heat. Bears and lions, for sure, we didn't see the bears. By the time we saw the leopards, they'd started to move around.

To cap the day, of course, we each had a beavertail while sitting next to a flock of Canada Geese. If that moment had been any more Canadian, I'd have been given Government weed and gotten a gay marriage, while staying out of the conflict in Iraq.

We got out before the rain started, and now 'm starting the stir fry. HCD for the crew around the world.

The Toronto Zoo, eh? I went there in 1980 with [livejournal.com profile] papajoemambo and remember the monkeys defacating and plastering the glass walls with their shit! It was a great zoo if I remember correctly...

All gone choo choo?????
I remember it was a great zoo, based around the continents from which the animals came.
